2019: Abia APC gives Ikpeazu quit notice
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State have vowed to wrest power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu.
Various leaders of the party said APC was fast growing in Abia, a clear indication of the last days of PDP leadership in the state.
They made the remarks at the APC Caucus meeting held yesterday at Isi-Court event centre, Umuahia.
In his welcome address, Abia State APC Chairman, Hon. Donastus Nwankpa, urged members to sustain their loyalty to the party by mobilsing more members at the ward and local government levels, noting that politics was a game of numbers.
According to him, “With the recent appointments of some of our members into boards of federal parastatals, we are confident that the appointees will use their positions to add value to the party and Abia State.
“We shall in due course constitute committees that will be saddled with different responsibilities for the sake of the party,” he said.
A member of the APC Board of Trustees and Chairman Abia APC Caucus, Chief Sam Nkire, tasked stakeholders to strengthen the party in their localities, adding that with the calibre of politicians in the party, the APC was equipped to win future elections in the state.
The gathering had in attendance Chief Kalu Idika Kalu, Chief Chris Akomas, Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, Chief Anyim Nyerere, Senator Chris Adighije, Hon. Acho Obioma, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, Dr Madukwe Ukaegbu, Chief Amobi Ogah, Barrister Fabian Okonkwo, Hon. Chibuike Jonas among others.
