Chelsea has reportedly close to signing Trabzonspor midfielder Ogenyi Onazi, according to reports in Turkey.
Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed that £4m fee has been agreed on the player is due to fly to the Midlands to undergo a medical.
Onazi was a summer target of Birmingham who also made a £7m bid for Torino midfielder Afriyie Acquah.
The 24-year-old Super Eagles vice captain move to Trabzonspor from Lazio last summer and where he made 32 league appearances scoring two goals for the Turkish outfit.
Since breaking into the scene in 2009, Onazi has been consistently linked with a move to Premier League with the Everton, Sunderland, and Southampton previously.
But having gone trial with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in 2010, but a deal could not be reached with both teams because of work permit issues.
