Crystal Palace sign Manchester United youngster Timothy Fosu-Mensah on loan for the season.
Manchester United have loaned Timothy Fosu-Mensah to Crystal Palace for the 2017-18 season.
The 19-year-old made his senior Red Devils debut under Louis van Gaal in February 2016 and has gone on to make 21 first-team appearances for the club.
Fosu-Mensah operates primarily as a right-back but has also filled in at centre-back and central midfield, will wear the number 24 shirt.
He will be working under countryman Frank de Boer at Selhurst, who was in charge of the Ajax youth team between 2007 and 2010 when Fosu-Mensah was at the club before he joined United 2014.
Fosu-Mensah becomes Palace’s third summer signing, after Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea and Jairo Riedewald from Ajax.
Fosu-Mensah made his Premier League debut against Arsenal in February 2016 and has featured 12 times in the top flight. He could feature in Palace’s 2017/18 opener, at home to Huddersfield Town on Saturday 12 August.
Fosu-Mensah has featured 21 times for United including a clean sheet at Old Trafford against Palace on the final day of the 2016/17 season, and has represented Netherlands at youth, U21 and a call up to the senior squad.
