Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to Real Madrid training ahead of their UEFA Super Cup clash with his former club Manchester United.
Despite reported interest to return to England following his tax troubles in Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo returned to training at Real Madrid ahead of facing his former club Manchester United in the European Super Cup on Tuesday.
Several news reports claimed on Saturday that Ronaldo had told Spanish prosecutors he wanted to return to England where he never had tax problems.
But the reigning Ballon d’Or holder completed his first training session following participation at the Confederations Cup with Portugal last month in Russia.
Ronaldo joined his team-mates for an intense training session on Saturday at the club’s Valdebebas base on the outskirts of the Spanish capital, with the forward showing no rustiness following his break.
Ronaldo completed the first half of training alongside the group, before moving on to train alone as he looks to get back in shape ahead of the new campaign.
The former United star was pictured recently on the last few days of his holiday alongside his expectant girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez, who cradled a growing baby bump during a lavish yacht holiday in Ibiza.
Ronaldo is in line to make a start at the Philip II Arena in Skopje, Macedonia on Tuesday when Gareth Bale will also look to impress against his long-time admirer Jose Mourinho.
